ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Dawn M. Lurie (DL) is a shareholder at Polsinelli, PC. She is recognized in the legal community as a sophisticated and forward thinking immigration compliance authority and EB-5 investment strategist. She focuses on visa and compliance issues. Dawn is proud to be considered a trusted partner to corporate clients and is relied on for her ability to spot impending government enforcement trends. She has represented clients in the EB-5 program since the early years of the program's inception, in the 1990s. Her experience has evolved over the last two decades as the EB-5 program progressed from an obscure means of obtaining U.S. residency, to a viable mechanism of funding a significant portion of the capital stack for large-scale projects and infrastructure building across industries. Attending EB-5 Board hearings in D.C., participating in the stakeholder conversation process with the USCIS and advocating for EB-5 immigration reform, provides her clients with a unique Washington perspective. Dawn serves on the EB-5 trade association's (IIUSA) Best Practices Committee and is a past Chair of the DC Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Ali Brodie is an experienced immigration attorney who represents companies and individuals in business immigration, employer compliance and EB-5 matters. She advises startups and established companies in connection with visa sponsorship of foreign nationals and permanent residency as well as counsels investors and entrepreneurs on securing visas or permanent residency. She also helps companies assess immigration compliance and train relevant personnel on federal and state employer verification laws.

Lauren Cohen a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, is an attorney licensed in both the U.S. and Canada, and is an active AILA member. Lauren is a sought-after speaker with a stellar track record of success. Lauren has first-hand knowledge of the visa process, having herself immigrated from Canada. After spending several years working as corporate counsel in various industries while delving into the field of immigration law, Lauren decided to combine her legal knowledge and business acumen. The result is e-Council Inc., a company focused on designing professional Business Plans and offering a wide range of ancillary services for all types of business visas, with a special focus on turnkey EB-5 solutions for direct investment and regional center cases.

Jeff DeCicco is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of CanAm�s affiliated broker-dealer, CanAm Investor Services.� Mr. DeCicco is responsible for managing the sale of private placement funds for domestic-based foreign investors. Mr. DeCicco has spent much of his 20-year career on Wall Street in institutional sales and trading. He began his career as an interest rate derivatives trader on the Chicago Board of Trade.� Since then, Mr. DeCicco worked as an equity derivative sales trader for two of the leading inter-dealer brokers in the world, ICAP and BGC Partners.� Servicing clients around the globe, Mr. DeCicco has managed transactions for many of the largest financial institutions in Europe, Asia, and the US. Most recently, Mr. DeCicco established and was co-head of equity derivatives for Mint Partners (a division of BGC). Prior to joining CanAm, Mr. DeCicco worked in private equity raising capital for real estate, energy, and alternative energy projects. Mr. DeCicco earned a Bachelors Degree from Wesleyan University and holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, 24, and 4 licenses.

Enrique Gonzalez is the managing partner of the Florida office of Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP. He counsels a broad spectrum of individuals, clients, and institutions, with an emphasis on advising high-net worth individuals on investment-oriented immigration routes such as the EB-5 visa. He also manages the compliance programs for companies involved in industries as wide-ranging as entertainment, healthcare, agriculture, energy, education/research, food service, technology, and hospitality

Matt Gordon is the Chief Executive Officer at E3iG and Chairman of E3 Cargo. Mr. Gordon's career spans business operations, finance and law. Mr. Gordon is a noted expert in the EB-5 field and is an authority on structuring EB-5 investments. He is the editor of the EB-5 Book, the legal treatise on the EB-5 program and a frequent lecturer to immigration attorneys. Mr. Gordon has participated in policy events, including those hosted by the White House and Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Prior to founding E3 Investment Group, Mr. Gordon was an investment banker for a decade and ran the US division of a Swiss multi-national corporation. Mr. Gordon is a licensed attorney, having practiced mergers and acquisitions law at the beginning of his career with the largest and most reputable Wall Street firms including Fried Frank and Sullivan & Cromwell. Mr. Gordon received his B.S. in Policy Analysis from Cornell University and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. Mr. Gordon holds FINRA/SEC securities licenses and is associated with a registered broker-dealer.

Ashley Grande is the EB-5 Manager at Mount Snow. Mount Snow has a USCIS-approved EB-5 project with more than 100 investors and is working on the second phase of their master plan. Ashley joined Mount Snow in 2014 and is responsible for all document coordination and correspondence with investors and attorneys for EB-5. She works with the team at NED Financial managing and tracking investor funds and documents. Ashley also assists with marketing, EB-5 project development and investor relations. Ashley earned he BA in Business Administration and comes to Mount Snow with a background in sales, event planning, and managin small business offices.

Doug Hauer is a Member of Mintz Levin's Corporate & Securities Practice and Immigration Practice. On the corporate side, he focuses on private offerings and related securities work. Doug serves as counsel to developers and businesses seeking capital through the EB-5 investor visa program. He also counsels lenders, private equity firms, and EB-5 Regional Centers on all aspects of EB-5 financing. In the immigration law space, Doug represents corporate, institutional, and individual clients in routine and complex immigration matters. He has in-depth experience advising companies on the immigration consequences of corporate restructuring. He also advises businesses on the legal aspects of establishing new offices and operations in the US.

Angelo Paparelli is a partner of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Paparelli, with a bicoastal practice in Southern California and New York City, is known for providing creative solutions to complex and straightforward immigration law problems, especially involving mergers and acquisitions, labor certifications and the H-1B visa category. His practice areas include legislative advocacy; employer compliance audits and investigations; U.S. and foreign work visas and permanent residence for executives, managers, scientists, scholars, investors, professionals, students and visitors; immigration messaging and speech-writing; corporate policy formulation; and immigration litigation before administrative agencies and the federal courts. Reid Thomas is the Executive Vice President at NES Financial, leading the company's sales and marketing organization. Steve Yale-Loehr is one of the nation's preeminent authorities on U.S. immigration and asylum law. A prolific scholar, he has written many law review articles, and is author or co-author of four standard reference works. He was -in-chief of The Cornell International Law Journal, and he co-authors a bimonthly column for The New York Law Journal. He is of counsel to the Ithaca firm of Miller Mayer. Upon receiving his Cornell J.D. cum laude, Prof. Yale-Loehr clerked for Chief Judge Howard G. Munson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is the 2001 recipient of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)'s Elmer Fried Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2004 recipient of AILA's Edith Lowenstein Award for excellence in advancing the practice of immigration law.
