                              ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

                              Douglas Hauer (Discussion Leader) On the corporate side, he focuses on private offerings and related securities work. Doug serves as counsel to developers and businesses seeking capital through the EB-5 investor visa program. He also counsels lenders, private equity firms and EB-5 Regional Centers on EB-5 compliance issues. In the immigration law space, Doug represents corporate, institutional and individual clients in routine and complex immigration matters. He has in-depth experience advising companies on the immigration consequences of corporate restructuring. In 2008, he counseled a leading financial institution on the immigration law aspects of the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP). Doug also has experience counseling ultra high-net worth individuals on all aspects of the US visa process, dual nationality, expatriation from the United States, and green card relinquishment. He is frequently called on by tax lawyers and accountants to resolve novel immigration issues that arise in counseling individuals on US tax compliance. He also has experience representing investors seeking permanent residence status through the EB-5 program. He has successfully counseled EB-5 investors from countries with complicated currency export and control laws such as Vietnam, Thailand, India and Bangladesh.                               Jillian Fortuna is a Bentley University alum and received her juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, where she focused on securities and corporate law while also providing pro bono legal services for the Juvenile Justice Center. She is licensed to practice law in the States of Massachusetts and New York, as well as the United States District Court for Massachusetts. Ms. Fortuna oversees USCIS compliance, keeping track of their ever-changing policies regarding EB-5. Prior to joining EB5MA, she worked in the legal department of AEW Capital Management. A Boston native, she frequently volunteers at local nonprofits, including the YMCA food pantry.

                              Steve Ganis has over 15 years of experience as a government and private-sector lawyer practicing financial services law, specializing in the federal banking, securities, and derivatives laws. He is globally recognized for his knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions regulations. He handles a wide range of matters for institutions and high-level financial services executives involving regulation of clearing and introducing broker-dealers, mutual funds, hedge funds, transfer agents, private equity funds, institutional investors, banks, thrifts, insurance companies, futures commission merchants, commodity trading advisors, commodity pool operators, foreign exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives dealers, money services businesses, clearing agencies, alternative trading systems, and futures and options exchanges.

                              Matt Gordon is a the Managing Director of E3 Investment Group.                               H. Ronald Klasko (Ron) is recognized by businesses, universities, hospitals, scholars, investors and other lawyers as one of the country’s leading immigration lawyers.                               Ira Kurzban holds J.D. and M.A. Degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. with honors from Syracuse University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He is also an honorary fellow of the University of Pennsylvania School of Law where he was honored for his exemplified signal service to every aspect of the legal profession. He is also the recipient of the Wasserstein Fellowship at Harvard University Law School. Mr. Kurzban has been a partner in the law firm of Kurzban, Kurzban, Weinger, Tetzeli, & Pratt P.A. of Miami, Florida for over three decades and is the chair of the firm's immigration department.

                              Cheryl A.                               Gregory White is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group.                               Steve Yale-Loehr is one of the nation's preeminent authorities on U.S. immigration and asylum law. A prolific scholar, he has written many law review articles, and is author or co-author of four standard reference works. He was -in-chief of The Cornell International Law Journal, and he co-authors a bimonthly column for The New York Law Journal. He is of counsel to the Ithaca firm of Miller Mayer. Upon receiving his Cornell J.D. cum laude, Prof. Yale-Loehr clerked for Chief Judge Howard G. Munson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is the 2001 recipient of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)'s Elmer Fried Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2004 recipient of AILA's Edith Lowenstein Award for excellence in advancing the practice of immigration law.
