Dear Weekly Editor:
In response to the rant in the letter of the self-proclaimed racist, Mr.
Roberts (IW 4/27/07)...all studies conducted of which I have knowledge have revealed that far fewer violent crimes are committed by our undocumented migrant population on a per-person basis than the native-born. Furthermore, U.S. legislation, such as NAFTA, and the saturation of the Mexican market with subsidized US farm products that it enables, is largely responsible for the influx of Mexican migrants working in agriculture who cannot compete with the cheap imports from the north.
