Support For Comprehensive Immigration Reform
National Immigration Forum reports that "Polls that have been released since November 2006 continue to show majority support for immigration solutions that include enhanced border security, workplace and employer enforcement, earned legalization for undocumented immigrants with a path to citizenship, and expanded visas for future immigrant workers and families."

Gregory Siskind, Esq. writes "The next allotment of H-1B visas in the 65,000 pool will open up on October 1, 2008 with applications being accepted on April 1, 2008. Dear Weekly Editor:
Regarding the comment on Big City Immigrant Infusion (IW 4/9/2007), that is perfectly normal. Anytime you have a new population of immigrants in a new area the older residents move out. I've seen that several times in the history of New York City. In the upper east side when the Italians moved in the Jews moved out. When the Spanish moved in the Italians moved out. America is a receptive society, but American's wish and learn to be Americans. It is hard to be around people who constantly speak another language and refuse to integrate or accept the others values. That sort of population churning is historically very common.
The real problem with recent immigration is its extraordinarily high cost compared to past immigration. America needs immigrants who contribute to the society by not expecting social benefits paid by tax dollars. We need well educated contributors, leaders in science and industry, not uneducated relatives of the uneducated. Other countries in the world enforce their borders and will admit only contributors. That is the reform the America needs!!
