USCIS published information on citizenship and naturalization, including the following:

  • Nearly 70% of all new citizens naturalized in FY 2004 call CA, NY, FL, TX, IL, or NJ home.
  • 54% of all new citizens naturalized during FY 2004 were women.
  • Asia is the leading region of birth among persons naturalizing: 42% of new citizens naturalized during FY 2004 were born in Asian countries.
