USCIS Implements Help HAITI Act of 2010
Update

WASHINGTON — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced the implementation of the Help HAITI Act of 2010. This new law authorizes USCIS to grant lawful permanent resident status to certain orphaned children from Haiti, who were paroled into the United States under the Haitian Orphan Parole Program after the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake.

USCIS has revised its Haitian Child Paroled Under Special Circumstances webpage adding a scenario on qualifying under the Help HAITI Act. This page includes information about the eligibility and documentation required to apply for permanent residence under the new law. USCIS has also incorporated questions and answers about the new law at www.uscis.gov/adoptions/haiti.
For more information on USCIS and its programs, visit www.uscis.gov.
