humanitarian resettlement program
On November 15, 2005, the United States and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed the final agreement of Public Information Outreach of the Humanitarian Process (HR). The USG will accept applications from Vietnamese citizens who might have been eligible for resettlement in the United States under the former Orderly Departure Program. This new, limited program will apply to those persons who were unable to apply before the Orderly Departure Program closed on September 30, 1994, or who were unable to complete the application process with a definitive interview by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service. For further information and application guidelines, please contact the Refugee Resettlement Section at the United States Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City (Tel: 08-829-2750, e-mail: RefugeeInfo@wrapshochiminh.org.vn.)
The history of cooperation between the Governments of the United States and Vietnam in resettlement has been a long and productive one. We believe that our working together on this and other humanitarian projects reflects the growing partnership and friendship between the United States and Vietnam.
