I am forwarding a copy of the minutes from our State Bar
of Texas meeting in El Paso which included these highlights:
The Assistant Center Director for Documents from the TSC
discussed their three tiered adjudications processing plan,
delayed birth certificates, I-130 backlogs for immediate
relatives of U.S. citizens, I-212 waivers of prior deportations,
concurrent processing of I-140s/I-485s, and other issues.
The Consul General and the Chiefs from all Sections of our
U.S. Consulate in Juarez discussed appearances of attorneys
with clients at interviews, immigrant and nonimmigrant processing,
new clearance procedures, machine readable immigrant visas,
additional delays from upcoming biometrics processing, fraud
investigations, third country nationals, and many other topics.
The CIS Officer in Charge in Juarez advised our Committee members
about the procedures, criteria, policies, and estimated processing
times for waivers of the three and ten year bars, false claims to
U.S. citizenship, and the 212(a)(9)(c) "permanent bar."
The US CIS Central Regional Director as well as the El Paso
District Director discussed several other topics of interest. For the minutes in its entirety, see here.
