Dear Editor:

The problem with the willing employee / employer theory is that frequently once a person is granted legal status in this country the nature of the relationship changes. Legalized immigrants demand, and rightfully so, wages on par with the native poplulation. There is no shortage of workers in the United States, only a shortage of workers willing to work at below market wages. Remember illegal immigrants are awesome for the upper and middle class. They provide the cheap goods and services we all crave so much. The people most hurt by illegal immigrants are the immigrants who came the year before. The steady stream of illegals from Mexico keeps wages depressed on the low rungs of the pay scale.
