Comment: Immigration Policy Hurting Innovation? - A piece shedding light on the impact of the H1-B cap, which took a surprisingly high profile role in comments made at this month's Innovation Summit, appeared in the Atlantic's website yesterday. The article notes the importance of foreign-born employees to U.S. tech companies as well as pending legislation that will raise the number of H1-B visas available. Interestingly, a recent GAO study reportedly found that smaller employers are hit harder when the cap is reached than larger ones - while large employers are typically able to find qualified employees at higher prices, smaller ones were not able to find or pay for such candidates, so their efficiency took a step backwards. Will our economy be dramatically helped by raising the H1-B cap? Share your thoughts with us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The full article can be found here
