Comment: The Fifty Percent - The Huffington Post reports " Immigrants founded or cofounded almost half of 50 top venture-backed companies in the United States, a new study shows, underscoring some of the high stakes in potential immigration reform… Of the 50 top venture-backed companies, 23 had at least one immigrant founder, the study found. In addition, 37 of the 50 companies employed at least one immigrant in a key management position such as chief technology officer." While the role of immigrants in economy as a whole is critical, the role they play in our fastest growing industries is indispensable. We should be thankful and proud that these bright and energetic individuals want to build their businesses here and make US their home. Our immigration laws however put obstacles in their way, and thereby drive the fastest growing industries out of the US.
