Comment: Dignity Of Labor - A respect for a job done well no matter what the job, is an integral part of American culture. Immigrant labor has always been a significant part of the US labor force. Increasing regulations and enforcement actions on immigrants in the work force - whether the rise of RFEs, H-1B inspections or ICE raids - are a material blow not only to lives of immigrants and to the ability of businesses to do business, but, by cretaing a climate of uncertainity and fear among immigrant labor, are thereby an affront to the dignity of labor which is a cornerstone of the American ethos. We salute the immigrant contribution to the American dream on this Labor Day. We welcome readers to share their opinion and ideas with us in our letters section or by writing to us editor@ilw.com.
