Comment: Arizona Is Sane - The chief architect of Arizona's bigotry, Mr. Russell Pearce, President of Arizona's Senate is in trouble. His constituents have gathered more than sufficient valid signatures for a recall vote later this year. Mr. Pearce could find himself jobless (along with the undocumented who he has hounded) because of "the damage that he has done to our image, our brand, job creation" quoting one of the activists who is working against Mr. Pearce. This event goes to show that political currents flow two ways - sane citizens of Arizona exist, and are standing up to be counted. Should the recall effort against Mr. Pearce succeed, its effects would resound far beyond Arizona's frontiers, and indeed America's frontiers. The Republican Party would surely be plunged into all out civil war should Mr. Pearce's brand of anti-immigration be shown to be a vote-loser. We will be keeping an eye on Mr. Pearce, stay tuned to Immigration Daily for the latest.
