Dear Editor:
Responding to ID's comment (08/28/08 ID), apparently, only eight aliens have been singled out for identity theft prosecutions (so far) The common characteristic appears to be that there are victims to their crimes. This looks like a trap to me. We have been complaining that the Administration is treating undocumented immigrants as criminals; we have been claiming that they are just hard working people trying to earn a living. If we rush to the aid of these particular immigrants, the Administration may respond, "Come on. These aliens committed serious criminal offenses that hurt people. Why are you helping them?" The truth is that we probably wouldn't be sympathetic if they were American citizens. Some undocumented aliens really are criminals and should be treated accordingly. To advocate otherwise, ruins our credibility when we complain about unfairly characterizing hardworking immigrants as criminals.

Nolan Rappaport

Dear Editor:
Do you think it's time for our un-invited guest to go home? does it not seem they have worn out there welcome? What kind of people will steal my,or your identity to become a fugitive in this country? What kind of young people come to our country and join gangs, rob, steal, commit murders, sell drugs? Smuggle drugs. What kind of people come to our country illegally and expect to get free welfare, free medical, free food programs, free education. Apparently when they heard this is the land of the free, they took free literally. What kind of services could I expect if I went to Mexico illegally? maybe prison, or shot, I've heard of Americans being thrown in Mexican prisons for spiting on a dusty dirt street. And so have you. Also would you represent me if Mexico was deporting me?
