Letters to the Editor

Readers are welcome to share their comments, email: editor@ilw.com.

Dear Editor:
In Bob Schantz's response to recent editorial comments he expressed that President Bush missed lots of boats and was upset that ILW.COM would suggest he had caught any, much less all but immigration reform. I think he misunderstood the editorial. I took it to mean that Bush has been very aggressive in staking out policy positions and trying to ram them through. This is what many Democrats are most critical of the President for. John Forbes Kerry is expressly running a campaign that seeks to limit the scope and pace of change in US policy at home and abroad. Weird as it may seem, he is the stability candidate and the Republicans have renominated the candidate who proposes and often achieves one reform after another. I hope I stated that as neutrally as possible, despite being a rabidly Republican trial lawyer and fan of Edmund Burke.
