With this issue we are launching a series of articles by Angelo Paparelli called "Paparelli on Business Immigration." Mr. Paparelli is a well-known author in the field of immigration, especially in the area of H-1Bs. We are glad to be able to make his work available to readers of Immigration Daily. The first installment is "A Moveable Feast": New and Old Portability under AC21 § 105. The subject of portability of H-1Bs is an intriguing one which has prompted other contributors to Immigration Daily to write such as Gary Endelman in his article Traveling Man: Bringing the Port into H-1B Portability.
Mr. Paparelli and Stephen Yale-Loehr, noted immigration author and Cornell law professor, will conduct a three-part teleconference and e-mail listserv series titled On the Cutting Edge: H-1B Practice and Strategy with Angelo Paparelli and Steve Yale-Loehr. Each teleconference will consist of 60 minutes of analysis, strategy and practice tips followed by 30 minutes of questions and answers. The listserv will allow the submission of questions to the speakers ahead of the scheduled teleconference dates and each week Mr. Paparelli and Mr. Yale-Loehr will select questions of general interest to answer. The teleconferences will take place Wednesdays August 8, September 5, and October 3, 2001, at 1:00-2:30 p.m. Eastern (New York) time. This is an opportunity for the entire office to learn the latest about H-1Bs by sharing the cost and sitting around a speaker phone. The teleconferences are open to attorneys, employers, HR professionals and anyone else interested in the H-1B process and strategy. For more information or to register click here.
