Republican Roll Of Shame The House of Representatives passed the 9/11 Intelligence Bill by a vote of 336-75. It bears noting that of those voting against, were 14 of the 21 Republicans on the Judiciary Committee and 6 of the 8 Republicans on the Immigration Subcommittee. Those voting no, while a small minority in the House, are an overwhelming majority in the Republicans on the Judiciary and Immigration Committees. It is unlikely that these committees can function effectively while they remain so far out of step with the sentiment of their colleagues in the House. We encourage the incoming Republican House Conference for the 109th Congress to consider whether the 14 Republicans referred to above would better serve their party and country in other Committees. If the Republican leadership does not show the strength to re-assign recalcitrant members, the Republican party and the country will be in store for further unnecessary disputes and embarrassments.
