The following is in response to the Editor's Comments in the December 17, 2001, issue of Immigration Daily.
Dear Editor:
I understood your explanation about the many nuances of the word alien. I also appreciate your respect towards people's
sensitivity on your editor's note below. Wise approach!!
As Mr./Ms./Mrs. MH stated, it is up to us to make the changes and be conscientious about others. Many companies, including the one I work for, does not accept the term "alien" or "foreigner" being used in reference to someone born abroad, because it could be
used with many different connotations. We have many scientists from abroad and they appreciate to be
respected as so.
Your web page is very useful for us checking for news regarding immigration laws about hiring professionals from other countries.
Those that are looking for an opportunity to look or talk down on someone else, in order to feel good about themselves, certainly do not miss this opportunity. Our great nation has been and will always be built by the talented minds born or not in the USA, as well as those that come here willing to work hard to keep our basic needs satisfied. They deserve our respect as we want ourselves to be respected.
