Bloggings On Updates In Immigration Law

by Carl Shusterman

Inmigracion Estadounidense: Una Guia Practica

Suprised by the title of this topic?

That's the idea. We wanted to get your attention.

Our Spanish-language website, "U.S. Immigration: A Practical Guide", or in Spanish "Inmigracion Estadounidense: Una Guia Practica" is now online.

Immigration law is complicated and often is hard to understand, even if English is your native language. If English is not your native language, it is very difficult to understand immigration laws, policies and procedures if you have to read this information in English.

Therefore, we have reached out to some of the native Spanish speakers on our staff, particularly Juan Jasso and our summer intern Stephanie Osorio who took on the considerable task of translating hundreds of pages from our English website into Spanish. We have also aggregated existing web pages published by government agencies, most notably the USCIS, into our Spanish-language immigration website.

Learn how to obtain a temporary visa to work, study or visit the U.S. Find out how to obtain permanent residence through marriage, family members, employment, investment and the visa lottery. We update the State Department Visa Bulletin on a monthly basis. Learn how you can become a U.S. citizen through naturalization or through your parents. We have posted all four nationality charts online. Learn how to defend yourself if you are in removal proceedings or if you are an employer who wants to be sure that you are in compliance with all I-9 laws and regulations.

If your application or petition for immigration benefits is pending, we link to the latest processing times at USCIS, the Department of Labor (DOL) and the State Department (DOS). We also link to the latest information regarding immigration on the websites of the USCIS, ICE, CBP, the Immigration Courts, DOL, DOS and the Socal Security Administration.

Sign up for our free, Spanish-language immigration newsletter. If you need legal assistance, make use of our Spanish-language intake form. Watch our free "how-to" immigration videos online. Many of these videos we link to from the USCIS website. It is a little depressing how few people have watched some of these excellent videos.

Check out our Immigration News Ticker for the latest immigration news. Below the ticker, we link to useful news about the most recent developments in the immigration world.

If you are interested, we have posted information about our attorneys, our success stories, Ask Mr. Shusterman, client testimonials and contact information, all in Spanish. You can watch Attorney Shusterman's testimony before the Senate's Immigration Subcommittee. That's in English, sorry!

If you notice any errors on our new website or have any suggestions for items that we have yet to cover, please feel free to send your suggestions to Juan Jasso.

We want "Inmigracion Estadounidense: Una Guia Practica" to be your guide to U.S. immigration laws and procedures.
