Immigrants Of The Day: Hlio Castroneves of Brazil, and Karan Kler of India

Hlio Castroneves (Brazil) (Winner 0f 2009 Indy 500)

180px-Castroneves Hlio Castroneves (born May 10, 1975 in So Paulo, Brazil) won the Indianapolis 500 in 2001, 2002, and 2009, one of nine drivers who have won three. We are not sure of his formal immigratuion status but Castroneves currently reisdes in Miami, Florida.

Castroneves won the fifth season of the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars.

Karan Kler (India)

Karan Kler is the executive director of the Coachella Valley Immigration Service and Assistance Inc. (C-VISA), a nonprofit immigration counseling agency in Palm Springs.  The legal counseling organization handles about 4,000 cases on an ongoing basis, ranging from immigrants needing help with their status and citizenship, naturalized citizens who need to file paperwork for children born abroad and for people who have problems with renters, employers and medical insurance companies.

As executive director of Coachella Valley Immigration Service and Assistance Inc., Karan Kler provides legal assistance at a low cost to immigrants and existing citizens alike. He brings a doctor in some weekday mornings to provide medical exams at cost, and he'll take care of cases referred by Shelter from the Storm gratis. C-VISA is an organization provides support for victims of domestic violence, the immigrant population, and families that want to stay together.
